| | Challenging the Impossible: Discovering Beautiful Trophies for Jesus is the inspirational story of Joe and Charlotte Fauss, who have spent the past twenty years reaching out to prisoners. The book describes how Joe and his wife first realized the need for better prisoner aftercare when they went to minister to a troubled teen who had been sentenced to a Texas prison. Already devoted to their work helping at-risk teenagers, they were deeply saddened at the discovery of a whole world of thousands of hopeless men and women who had messed up, been locked up, and had given up. ³God put a message of hope into our souls,² says Joe. ³We saw the need and knew we had to help.²
Compelling stories appear throughout the book, written by those whose lives have been touched by the Calvary Commission, and outlining the success of many who flourished under the love and compassion of the Fausses. Many of the former prisoners are now pastors, educators, missionaries, and businessmen, or as Joe refers to them, ³beautiful trophies for Jesus.²
The Fausses have been long time friends of LDM, and have partnered with us on many ministry experiences. They founded and operate the Josiah and Bethany Children's Home Orphanage in Reynosa, Mexico, named in honor of Keith and Melody's children who died with Keith in 1982.
